Flat Pack Opera "Tosca"
Flat Pack Opera return to Sale Festival 2026 with their production of Tosca at St. Paul's Church on Springfield Road on Saturday 30 May
‘In a bleak authoritarian future, an all-seeing regime crushes individuality and dissent. Celebrated singer Floria Tosca and her lover, the rebellious artist Mario Cavaradossi, find their love tested by tyranny. When Cavaradossi secretly helps a fugitive dissident, he draws the attention of Baron Scarpia, the ruthless Chief of Security. Scarpia engineers a trap to control Tosca, forcing a vicious bargain: her lover’s freedom in exchange for her submission. With integrity and survival at stake, Tosca faces an impossible choice—sparking a descent into betrayal, sacrifice, and defiant resistance in a city where hope is a crime.’
